Features

β€” Complex Scenario Handling β€”

Sophisticated navigation considers which events have already occurred during your code - including medications given - when evaluating which branch of the ACLS algorithm should occur next.

β€” Simple Instructional Layout β€”

Clear, concise directions allow you to act quickly and confidently to administer care. Task delegation allows you to manage the room effectively and focus on the most important aspects of the code.

β€” Medication Administration Timers β€”

Countdown to the next administration of epinephrine, amiodarone, or lidocaine with audible and visual reminders ensures every dose is given on time.

β€” CPR Timer and Metronome β€”

Increase the consistency and quality of CPR and maximize active compression time using the built-in metronome and audible and visual reminders to switch chest compressors and perform regular rhythm checks.

β€” Detailed Recordkeeping β€”

Every ACLS step, event, and intervention is automatically logged with a timestamp, including an extensive list of possible medications and procedures which might be used during the code. Review past codes and easily export text logs for analysis or future incorporation into a Health Record.

6 β€” Memory Aids β€”

Contextual information is presented when you need it most, including visual examples for cardiac rhythm identification, medication suggestions and doses, root cause analysis (H’s & T’s), and more.

β€” Flexible Settings and Personalization β€”

Don’t need as much hand-holding? Do you have a favourite compression rate for CPR or would you prefer to adjust the duration of medication timers? Code Blue Leader allows you to customize your experience with guidance for best practices.

Straight forward, easy to use, and helpful. Love the integrated timers!

Evidence

Increase Your Accuracy!

14% increase in correct actions performed during a code blue event and 3x decrease in rate of errors.

94%

Low-Stress Resuscitation!

94% of testers responded yes when asked if Code Blue Leader was easy to use and if they would use the app frequently.

Don't Miss a Step!

"Critical resuscitation step" completion increased from 85% to 100% with use of Code Blue Leader.

It was easy to settle in to the rhythm of the app, and it was nice to know that the doses, reversible causes, and next steps were in the app in case I forgot something. It's foolproof!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Code Blue Leader follows the Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) 2020 protocol. This algorithm is recommended by the American Heart Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, and other international cardiac resuscitation organizations as the best response to an ongoing or imminent cardiac arrest.
  • Built by emergency medicine physicians for all medical professionals, Code Blue Leader is designed for use by any ACLS certified individual who is involved in cardiac arrest response. This can include a wide variety of hospital staff, paramedical providers, military medics, family doctors, or others. This app can be especially useful for providers who do not regularly exercise their ACLS knowledge and may need reminders or closer guidance to properly adhere to the ACLS algorithm for their particular cardiac event.
  • The Code Blue Leader app does not collect or store any personal identifying information about users or patients. Past code logs contain a detailed record of events that transpired in a clear and anonymous way.
